Diana Temple Memorial Lecture - Sticky Floors and Glass Ceilings

This annual lecture honours the memory of Dr Diana Temple AM, a former member of the University of Sydney community and an advocate for the role of women in Science.  The 2018 lecture will be presented by Professor Caprice Greenberg.

'Sticky floors and glass ceilings’ addresses the difficult topic of gender disparities in surgery. Mixing empirical data with personal anecdotes, Dr. Greenberg provides an insightful overview of this difficult challenge facing the surgical discipline and practical advice on how we can begin to address it. 

 

About the presenter
Professor Caprice C. Greenberg, MD, MPH, FACS

Dr. Greenberg’s research program is dedicated to improving the quality and safety of surgical care. She has two goals that guide her work:
1) to improve operative performance and patient safety; and
2) to decrease practice variation and engage patients and other stakeholders in promoting high quality surgical care for patients with cancer.
