Gender Equity: The Future is Here Now

A highly-accomplished woman, Professor Sadler will share her achievements and challenges as a female leader and the steps that CAASTRO have implanted to create an inclusive and diverse community that supports women academics.  She will then be joined by a panel to continue the conversation hosted by Emeritus Professor Robyn Overall, the University's Chair, Women in Science. Panel members include: Professor Trevor Hambley, Professor Phil Gale, Professor Anne Green, plus PhD Student from Physics Equity and Access Committee (PEAC).

    Professor Elaine Sadler is the Director of the ARC Centre of Excellence for All-Sky Astrophysics (CAASTRO) and overseas a network of over 100 scientists and more than 40 research students across CAASTRO's seven university nodes.

     

    Her research interests are in extragalactic astronomy where she uses both radio and optical telescopes. In 2010, she was elected as a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science.
