Public Policy: What will you Learn?

Ever wondered how some of society's problems come and go from public attention while others stick around for a long time? How and why do governments deliver their policies and who do they work with and against in doing so?

Governments choose the problems they deal with. Their choice process is in the realm of 'politics'. How, when and if governments deal with problems relates to the 'policy' process. How the public service is organised to deliver on policies is in the 'administrative' space. The field of public policy has policy, politics and administration at its heart.

During this masterclass, you will engage in discussion about the field of public policy and its basic elements, and work together in groups on live, still-unresolved examples of government policy and the problems policy seeks to address.
