A two-part literacy professional learning day for secondary school teachers (Year 9).

Preparation for NAPLAN
Re-imaged for 2019, this adaptable micro -learning sequence (4 lessons) will support teachers of Year 9 students through literacy and numeracy based revision activities and quizzes. This structured resource package encourages increased student confidence, familiarity and achievement in NAPLAN- style tests.

In 2019, this module is facilitated by current University Student Leaders for whole year 9 cohorts in WPO’s longitudinal partner schools across 4 weeks in Term 1 and 2.

Now See Hear: Digital Narrative
In this hands-on one-day workshop, Story Factory will take you step-by-step through a magic teaching sequence that has worked with hundreds of students. The workshop will enable you to confidently implement a digital storytelling project with your students.

Now See Hear includes:

  • key information about the creation and application of digital stories
  • differentiated teaching strategies for the effective integration of information and communications technology (ICT)
  • a focus on promoting critical and creative thinking and collaboration in the classroom
Now See Hear provides 4 hours of QTC registered PD addressing 1.2.2; 1.5.2; 2.6.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.
